The new Bulgarian ambassador to Ljubljana visited the BCCI


The new Ambassador of Bulgaria to Slovenia Krasimir Bojanov and the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Tsvetan Simeonov discussed the possibilities for development of the bilateral trade and economic relations.

Ambassador Bojanov presented his ideas about the development of bilateral relations, accentuating on the tools of economic diplomacy. He communicated that Bulgaria could get good practices from Slovenia in the field of innovation and startup. Based on data from the Ministry of Economy, Bulgaria’s exports are mainly electricity, biodiesel and biodiesel blends, machine parts, and medicines. Imports from Slovenia consist of mostly medicines, cars, pneumatic tires, paper and cardboard, etc.

The President of the BCCI introduced Ambassador Bojanov to the cooperation activities of the Chamber with partners from Slovenia - with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia on a bilateral basis and internationally - with the Association of European Chambers of Commerce.

Tsvetan Simeonov presented the activities of the Chamber highlighting the database at its disposal. He noted that the Unified trade register of the Chamber contains over 55 thousand records of companies and commercial representations. The Trade registered companies account for more than 50% of the GDP and almost 90% of the country's foreign trade.

Simeonov presented also the activities of the Arbitration Court at the BCCI and the benefits of arbitration proceedings, which include digitalization, economy, speed, the possibility of choosing arbitrators, etc. He advised that companies from Bulgaria and Slovenia on including an arbitration clause in their commercial contracts.
