The monthly inflation rate in Bulgaria in March was 0.5% compared to the previous month, the National Statistical Institute said. The annual inflation rate compared to March 2022 was 14%.
The data show decline in the inflation rate as in February it was 0.8% compared to the previous month and 16% compared to February 2022.
The inflation rate in the country added up to 2.6% between December 2022 and March 2023 while the average annual inflation rate for the period April 2022-March 2023 compared to April 2021-2022 was 16.5%.
The highest increase in the prices of goods and services in March compared to the previous month was reported in miscellaneous goods and services (2.9%), while a 1.2% increase was noted in the prices of restaurants and hotels. Alcoholic beverages and tobacco ranked third with a monthly increase of 1.1%.
The prices of clothing and footwear decreased by 0.8% in March, compared to February. Decline in prices was also noted in transport (0.7%), housing, water, electricity, gas and another fuels (0.5%), as well as recreation and culture (0.5%).
