Н.E. Ms Natasha Bergel, Ambassador of Slovenia in Sofia, met with the Chamber President, Mr Tsvetan Simeonov, and discussed up-to-date information about the bilateral trade and economic relations.
Mr Simeonov gave an overview of the economic situation in Bulgaria and important issues were discussed, including Bulgaria's accession to the Eurozone and the benefits from our country‘s Schengen entry.
The participants expressed their willingness to increase cooperation in the fields of energy, defence, agriculture and new technologies.
Ambassador Bergel provided information on the forthcoming first edition of the SIDEC Exhibition in the sector of defence industry, which will be held in the period 21-24 October 2025 in the city of Celje, Slovenia. The main highlight of the event will be the cybersecurity, new technologies, energy efficiency in the sector and artificial intelligence within the context of the geopolitical changes and current challenges to security. The exhibitors include leading companies from Slovenia, Germany, Austria, Finland, Norway and Italy, among others.
Specific enquiries were discussed, coming from Slovenian companies which are looking for partners on the Bulgarian market, as well as forthcoming initiatives between businesses from Bulgaria and Slovenia.
