Analysis of Social Impact Alliance for Central & Eastern Europe on the progress of Bulgaria with the social impact ecosystem
Following a meeting held in April 2023 between the management of the BCCI and representatives of Social Impact Alliance for Central & Eastern Europe, an international think tank operating in 11 countries of the CEE region, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is glad to present the results of an analyses on the mapping and assessing obstacles and potential incentives, tax and legal, for greater social engagement of business, investors, and individuals in Bulgaria. Similar activities have already been conducted in 10 other Central & Eastern European countries; more information is to be found HERE.
The results of the survey show that individuals and businesses have more and more resources and willingness to tackle the most pressing social and environmental challenges in Bulgaria. Companies are starting to operate in a responsible and sustainable manner, motivated by increasingly conscious employees, investors, and consumers. As much as 49% of Bulgarians are already willing to pay more for products and services offered by socially responsible brands.
Understanding what stands in the way to greater social engagement of business and individuals, what obstacles they face, including tax and legal aspects, and what are the potential incentives that could positively impact their engagement and the obstacles to overcome is in the best interest of all.
It is our hope that the obstacles and the recommendations, drafted in collaboration with organizations that are shaping the Bulgarian social impact ecosystem, will be helpful in establishing the priorities and the further actions.
