Meeting with H.E. Zakia El Midaoui, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in Sofia

The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a meeting with H.E. Ms Zakia El Midaoui, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in Sofia. The Chamber President Tsvetan Simeonov and Todor Tabakov, Vice President of BCCI, had a talk with the Ambassador.

More practical bilateral relations and stimulation of the business and the tourist exchange between Bulgaria and Morocco - these were the central topics of the talk.

The participants discussed the prospects for increasing trade, economic and investment cooperation, based both on the long-standing ties between Bulgaria and Morocco and on the established relationships EU-Morocco.

In 2023, the commercial relations between Bulgaria and Morocco marked growth in their development. Bilateral exchanges of goods grew by 65%. For Bulgaria, the balance of trade is positive.

Data of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) shows that at the end of 2023, the aggregate direct foreign investment from the Kingdom of Morocco in Bulgaria reached EUR 3.9 million.
