The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a meeting with Tommy Leclercq, Governor of Mons, Denis Marten, Governor of Namur and Luc Saunier, Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Belgium, consular district of Wallonia region. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss areas for joint cooperation.
Tsvetan Simeonov presented the Bulgarian economy and emphasized the role of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in maintaining the favorable business environment for both Bulgarian companies and foreign investors. Simeonov highlighted the possibilities the Unified Commercial Register of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry provides for finding reliable partners on the basis of the information stored, verified and preserved in it.
The governors presented the Wallonia region, rich in natural resources and an important contributor to the Belgium economy /about 23% of GDP/. Their visit to our country was aimed at establishing contacts at the national and regional level. The program of the visit included meetings in various institutions and companies with a focus on the investments and the information technologies. Besides the capital, they also visited the town of Varna and the region.
