A meeting with the participants of the forthcoming training in China was held with H.E. Dai Qingli, Ambassador of China in Sofia, at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Sofia. The delegation comprises 34 participants proposed by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), including regional chambers of commerce, industry organizations, member companies authorized by BCCI, as well as representatives from partner organizations such as the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the Bulgarian Investment Agency, the Bulgarian Bank for Development, the National Statistical Institute, and GS1 Bulgaria. They will visit China from August 28 to September 13, 2024. In addition to on-site training, the Bulgarian participants will explore industrial zones, innovation parks, local institutions, and partners. The training is organized by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.
The President of BCCI, Tsvetan Simeonov, expressed appreciation for the excellent cooperation with the Chinese Embassy in Sofia. He noted that this training for Chamber representatives and its members and partners is being held for the third time, with increasing participation. Simeonov emphasized that this initiative aims to expand and leverage opportunities in Bulgarian-Chinese commercial and economic relations to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Ambassador Dai Qingli provided a comprehensive overview of the economic environment in her country, which is undergoing reforms in various aspects. She mentioned 27 economically focused sectors that are subject to changes nationwide. China has launched over 300 key reform initiatives. Some of these involve the transition to a green economy, innovation, technological development, energy, agriculture, the automotive industry, rail transport, and others. The country has seen a GDP growth of 5.2% in 2023. Furthermore, it supports multilateral cooperation in many areas within the framework of the "Belt and Road Initiative." She highlighted the positive growth in the bilateral trade between Bulgaria and China as one of the indicators of the effectiveness of this cooperation.
The diplomat emphasized in detail the objectives of the upcoming visit to China – gaining an in-depth understanding of the country, discovering new opportunities, and finding business partners.
King Lingyu, Commercial Counselor at the Embassy of China in Sofia, presented the highlights of the upcoming visit's program. It will include the cities of Shanghai, Fuzhou, Xiamen, and Beijing. A joint event with the Bulgarian Embassy in the Chinese capital is also planned.
