Making closer contacts with companies from structurally decisive sectors of the Chinese economy




The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a meeting with Chinese businessmen from the cities of Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing, Harbin and Guangzhou. They are in Bulgaria in order to get to know the economic environment, identify sectors for investment, establish contacts and hold meetings with local authorities in Ruse, Burgas, Plovdiv and Sofia.

BCCI Vice President Dr. Vasil Todorov, PhD, met with the delegation, organised by the Bulgarian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its President Lachezar Dinev.

The conditions for doing business in Bulgaria were discussed, with Mr Todorov highlighting the low taxes – the profits tax and personal income tax in particular, the tax relief in certain regions, the easy registration of companies, the availability of industrial zones on the territory of the whole country, etc. He cited the sectors of information and telecommunication technologies, agriculture, food and drink industry, renewable energy, etc. as suitable for investment.

The guests presented their companies, working in the fields of the automotive industry, tourism, logistics and energy, among others.

With the active cooperation among BCCI, the Bulgarian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chinese partners, the next steps were listed to include the organisation of online meetings by sector, the exchange of business visits and an increase in the trade and economic interaction.
