RES Share in Gross Final Energy Consumption Up in 2023, Y/Y


In 2023, compared to the previous year, an increase in the share of renewable energy in gross final energy consumption in the country was observed - by 3.51 percentage points, whereby it reached 22.55%, said the National Statistical Institute on 6 January.

The sectoral shares of renewable energy also showed an increase compared with 2022, as the largest increase was reported in electricity produced from renewable sources - by 9.35 percentage points, to 29.43%, followed by the renewable energy for heating and cooling - by 3.23 percentage points, reaching a share of 34.88%.

The smallest increase was reported in renewable energy in transport fuel consumption - by 0.43 percentage points, to 8.09%.
