In September 2024, the producer prices in industry decreased in Bulgaria, ending a two-month upward trend, show data released by the National Statistical Institute on 30 October. These prices are an early indicator of inflation.
The biggest annual drop was observed at the start of the year, by 14.2%.
The Total Producer Price Index went down by 0.8% in September 2024 compared to the like month of 2023. There was a price drop in the manufacturing industry, by 2.3%. An increase was observed in the mining and quarrying industry (13.5%) as well as in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (1.6%).
The Total Producer Price Index in Industry fell by 0.8% in September 2024 compared to a month earlier. A decrease was registered in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (1.8%) as well as in the manufacturing industry (0.8%), while the prices in the mining and quarrying industry rose by 2.8%.
