The summer tourist season in the Pamporovo resort in the Rhodope Mountains will last until the end of September and has been very successful so far, Pamporovo EAD said on Tuesday.
High temperatures in July and August attracted many tourists, noted Alexandra Tsankova, head of the Health Tourism Team in Pamporovo. Nearly 90% of the summer tourists have been Bulgarian guests, while foreign tourists have come from Britain, Israel, Greece, Turkiye and the United Arab Emirates.
New health programmes in Pamporovo focus on stress reduction, detoxification, respiratory disorder prevention and trauma recovery, said Tsankova, adding that many services have been upgraded with new physiotherapy equipment. She noted that most popular among tourists is the relaxation and anti-stress programme, which combines physical therapy and activities in nature.
The health tourism products are implemented by the team with the participation of doctors specializing in physiotherapy and rehabilitation, as well as nutritionists and fitness instructors. The company's intentions are to implement health programmes year-round.
