A delegation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries visited BCCI. China is becoming more attractive and desirable partner for us, the President of BCCI Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov said in his opening speech to the meeting. The Chinese delegation is in Bulgaria at the invitation of the Slavyani Foundation.
Mr. Simeonov explained that each review made of BCCI’s relations with China in recent years has been very comprehensive, because they are very active. This year alone, the Chamber has organized several joint initiatives. In March, BCCI hosted a business forum on the occasion of the official visit of Mr. Jiang Yaopin, Deputy Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China to our country. In April a business delegation from Jiangsu Province visited BCCI, and in June a delegation from Jilin Province held business meetings in Bulgaria.
The President of BCCI reminded that there are 300 Bulgarian companies with Chinese participation entered in the Trade Register of the Chamber. 65 of them are entirely Chinese-owned. Mixed companies are 211. There are also 10 Representative Offices of Chinese companies registered in Bulgaria.
The Chairman of the Slavyani Foundation Prof. Dr. Zahari Zahariev also welcomed the participants in the meeting and said that the representatives of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries had already held meetings in Plovdiv and Pernik. The development of projects for public utilities was discussed together with potential cooperation between scientific units from the two countries to set up technology parks, as well as reconstruction of power production companies.
In his address to the participants, the Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Li Jianping said that Chinese companies are very interested in cooperation with Bulgarian partners. Presentations of 4 Chinese companies working in the sectors of fur and leather processing, production of leather shoes and bags, energy saving equipment, energy, nature preservation, etc. were made.
Bulgarian entrepreneurs showed great interest during the bilateral meetings.
