Emmanuelle Boulestreau, newly arrived Head of the Economic Service at the Embassy of France in Sofia visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry a few weeks after the start of her mission in Bulgaria. The President of the Chamber, Tsvetan Simeonov, introduced the work of the BCCI and pointed out the extremely active cooperation with the French Embassy and the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In the first half of 2022, it was very intense in connection with the French Presidency of the Council of the EU and the events held, including the meetings of the Euro Club at the BCCI.
Boulestreau presented the priorities of her mission, including: attracting more French companies to the Bulgarian market as investors, suppliers and traders; promoting innovation and the application of new technologies in bilateral economic relations. She has experience in the region in the past, as part of the Economic Service of the French Embassy in Greece, and confirmed that she will work for improving the knowledge for the countries of South-Eastern Europe among companies in France.
In the course of the conversation, the interlocutors touched on topics such as: the upcoming transition of Bulgaria to the Eurozone, the tax system in the country, the challenges of the energy crisis, etc.
