The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) approved a natural gas price for August of BGN 59.67 per MWh - excluding access, transmission, excise and VAT charges, the regulator said on 1 August. Bulgargaz will sell natural gas at this price to final suppliers and to persons who have been issued a licence for production and transmission of thermal energy.
EWRC approved a natural gas price for July of BGN 60.58 per MWh - excluding access, transmission, excise and VAT charges.
The August price mix includes the whole amount of Azeri natural gas coming via the Greece-Bulgaria Interconnector under Bulgaria's long-term agreement with Azerbaijan. Azeri gas will meet 74.66% of the month's consumption needs in Bulgaria and is essential for achieving a favourable price level, EWRC said.
The public supplier Bulgargaz signed one agreement for deliveries of LNG for August with a regional trader following a procurement procedure. These quantities meet the August commitments of the public supplier to end consumers, heating companies and industrial clients.
