Karen Ivanov, Vice President of the Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, visited BCCI and talked with its President Tsvetan Simeonov. They discussed the development of the bilateral trade and economic relations between Armenia and Bulgaria. Information was exchanged about the economy, business climate and investment capacities of the two countries.
Karen Ivanov presented information on the work and actions on the part of Armenia, concerning any possible alternative transport roads for deliveries of goods from China to Europe through Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Armenia, as well as across the Black Sea to the Bulgarian ports of Varna and Bourgas. Besides, the opening of a "Made in Armenia" Trading House is forthcoming in Sofia with the purpose of presenting Armenian goods in Bulgaria.
Armenia's activeness was noted, too, as Chair of the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation in the period July - December this year. Different initiatives of the Presidium, having the motto – "Engagement, scope, sustainability", contribute to the economic cooperation and facilitation of trade in the region.
Data of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) show that in 2023 foreign direct investments from Armenia to Bulgaria amounted to 47.8 million euro.
