Meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana



The new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ghana Francisca Ashietey-Odunton visited the BCCI and had a meeting with its president Tsvetan Simeonov. The meeting was also attended by Patrick Nana Osei Bonsu – Commercial Minister-Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Ankara, and Kofe Babone - an entrepreneur.

Mr Simeonov expressed his contentment the Ambassador's visit took place during an important period for the development of the bilateral economic relations. In June, the BCCI and the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ghana signed a Cooperation Agreement . "This is just one step of the plan for expansion of Bulgaria's economic cooperation with the West African countries" Simeonov pointed out.

The meeting provided grounds for establishing more areas of cooperation, including the exchange of business visits aimed at revealing the potential of bilateral trade and investment relations and encouraging companies from both countries to take part in various fairs and exhibitions.

Ambassador Odunton emphasized that Ghana had well-developed agriculture, chemical, pharmaceutical, automotive and textile industries. Digitization of the production process, she pointed out, was a key factor the progress of the country.

The diplomat communicated she was administering a number of countries in the region – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Ukraine and Turkey, and was closely considering the economic development of Southeast Europe. Simeonov presented up-to-date information of the business and investment climate in Bulgaria.
