The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov hosted a meeting with H.E Mr. Miklós Boros, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to our country, and Nandor Zemniczky, trade attache at the embassy in Sofia.
The talks were focused on the possibilities for expanding the commercial and economic ties between Bulgaria and Hungary.
Ambassador Boros pointed out that bilateral trade was extending, with Hungary ranking as the 6th largest investor in Bulgaria (2 billion euros). As of today, the exchange of goods amounts to 2.4 billion euros per year with a positive balance for Hungary. The parties discussed the sectors of mutual interest: tourism, investment, banking and agreed there was even more potential in the cooperation with Hungary for stronger connections between the industrial and economic zones and the technological parks, as well as the joint development of leading innovative and scientific research projects.
Simeonov introduced the guests to the activities of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which had been an active partner of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and the Hungarian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce for many years.
Further, the parties discussed upcoming 2024 initiatives aimed at facilitating the communication between businesses from both countries.
