Tayib Ali, director of the "Industrial Development" Directorate at the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Iraqi Kurdistan, visited the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and had talks with the President Tsvetan Simeonov and the Secretary general Vasil Todorov.
Topic of the meeting was the commercial and economic cooperation between the two countries. Tayib Ali specified that some of the areas of mutual interest were the trade in petroleum products, the agriculture and the pharmaceuticals.
The guests were introduced to the activities of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in support of business.

According to information from the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy and Industry, Bulgaria's trade with Iraq for 2022 reached USD 325.31 million. (87% of increase compared to 2021), the export being 213.15 million USD (an increase of 315% compared to 2021). Import had a slight decline, falling by 8% compared to 2021.
