The state-owned company LB Bulgaricum EAD announced that it has been included in the registry of producers of the Protected Designation of Origin Bulgarian Yoghurt.

The Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Bulgarian Yoghurt is registered with a European regulation that protects Bulgarian milk and the technology by which it is produced. According to the requirement, yoghurt under the PDO must be produced from 100% raw milk from animals that are fed on the territory of Bulgaria or with at least 80% of their ration being Bulgarian feed.

The yoghurt of LB Bulgaricum EAD is also currently guaranteed to be produced from 100% high-quality raw Bulgarian milk, and dairy farmers must meet a number of criteria to become suppliers to the state-owned company.

"In recent months, the team of LB Bulgaricum EAD, together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the active support from the Bulgarian Association of Bulgarian Dairy Processors, has made great efforts to catch up with the delay and enter the family of protected Bulgarian yoghurt in a short time," experts from the company said.
