The Minister of Economy and Energy Dragomir Stoynev presented A-class investment certificate to "CallPoint New Europe" AD for the project for expansion of CallPoint New Europe activities and entering onto the new markets in Sofia and Plovdiv. The project will be implemented for a period of three years until February 2017, by which time the company is committed to open 520 jobs.
The investment project, which started in March 2014, has been taken as a result of a strategic partnership with the Canadian national telecommunications company “Telas”, when in 2012 its subsidiary "Telas International Ltd" acquired a majority share of the "New Europe CallPoint" AD. "Telas International (U.K.) Ltd." is a fully owned subsidiary of TELUS Communications, a leading Canadian telecommunications company with annual revenues of EUR 7.5 billion (equal to 11.3 billion Canadian dollars) and 13.3 million customers.
"CallPoint New Europe" AD was established in 2004 and now is one of the biggest multilingual independent contact centers and companies for outsourced business processes in Eastern Europe proposing services in 30 different languages. Customers of the Bulgarian company are firms with activities such as travel and leisure, retail and e-commerce, financial services, technology. As of the end of 2013, "CallPoint New Europe" AD has 49 clients, some of which are included in the global ranking of companies with the largest revenues Fortune Global 500. The company has 918 employees based in two centers for customer services located in Sofia and Plovdiv.
