Ivan Batalov, a newly appointed Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Georgia, visited BCCI and talked with its President Tsvetan Simeonov.
During the talk, the participants discussed the good cooperation with the partners from the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as within the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC). The two countries continue to work on improving the transport connection with ferry links by water between the ports of Bourgas and Batumi and on seeking new prospects of increasing the volume of freight traffic and developing sustainable multimodal transport connectivity between Asia and Europe.
It was agreed that in the near future, BCCI and the Trade and Economic Affairs Service of Georgia will organise a bazaar exhibition in Sofia to show Georgian goods.
As some data of the Bulgarian National Bank show, in 2023 the aggregate direct foreign investments from Georgia in Bulgaria amounted to EUR 15.3 million.
