The industrial production index grew by 3.3% in December 2023 compared to the previous month and decreased by 6.9% year on year, show preliminary data published by the National Statistical Institute on 9 February.
In December compared to November 2023, an increase was registered in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (11.1%), in the mining and quarrying industry (9.4%), and in manufacturing (0.9%).
In December 2023 compared to December 2022, a drop was observed in manufacturing (8.9%) and in the mining and quarrying industry (8.8%). The industrial production index in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply went up by 4.6%.
