Head of State Rumen Radev on an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan



Head of State Rumen Radev is on an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan. The delegation, led by the Bulgarian President, includes the caretaker Minister of Energy, the Chairman of the Bulgaria-Azerbaijan Friendship Group in the National Assembly and representatives of the business.

BCCI representatives, including Yancho Yanev, Chairman of the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dimitar Bratanov, Chairman of the Bulgarian-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Bratan Bratanov, Dynamic Resource EOOD, joined the delegation. During the visit to Baku, the representatives of the business presented and discussed potential projects for joint implementation.

The focus of the visit was on strengthening and deepening the bilateral strategic partnership in areas of mutual interest, including economy, energy, high technology, innovations, transport and tourism.

According to the data, provided by the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the main commodity group with a share of 19% in the export from Bulgaria to Azerbaijan is medicines. As regards the Azerbaijan's export to Bulgaria, the petroleum gas and other gaseous hydrocarbons hold a leading position (99.1%).

The representatives of the business took part in a meeting, organised by the Azerbaijani Agency for Promoting Export and Investments, at which the opportunities for the development of the bilateral trade and economic relations were discussed; also, specific projects were presented.

During the visit, a Joint Declaration of strengthening the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan was signed by the Presidents of both countries, as well as a number of documents and agreements among representatives of different institutions and companies.
