Exchange of Information and Views about the Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Bulgaria

The Commercial Counsellor at the General Consulate of the Republic of Bulgaria in Shanghai, Ivet Nikolova, visited BCCI and, together with the President of the Chamber Tsvetan Simeonov, discussed the bilateral trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and China as well as a number of forthcoming initiatives.

Tsvetan Simeonov gave an overview of the past bigger visits to China, organised by BCCI, and announced that the traditional training is forthcoming for the BCCI’s representatives of the management, employees, members and partners; it will be held at the end of August in the towns of Fuzhou and Beijing. The Programme of the visit and different logistical and practical issues were discussed.

Ivet Nikolova said that the organisation of such training sessions is an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with Chinese culture and to establish valuable business contacts. She expressed the opinion that, in view of the size of the Chinese market, the Bulgarian business has to be presented in general, with a national brand, on a regional scale. Ms Nikolova underlined that Bulgaria can be advertised as a destination with quality and healthy products.

Mr Simeonov presented BCCI's databases which can be of use to Chinese businesses - the bilingual voluntary Trade register, the TOP 100 and TOP 1500 Company rankings, the issue of Certificates and References from the Register, as well as the brochure, called "Bulgaria in Figures", which reflects the country's main macroeconomic indicators for the last 5 years - the investment environment, tourism, import and export, education and the labour market, as well as other important aspects of the Bulgarian economy.
