Eurochambres input on most burdensome proposals for regulatory reduction

60 suggestions for EU regulatory burden reduction

Simplification of the regulatory framework to support EU competitiveness has rightly been identified as a top priority for the new mandate. While this establishes an encouraging narrative, Eurochambres highlights the urgency of taking immediate, substantive action to relieve businesses from unsustainable compliance burdens.

The message from the meeting of Eurochambres Board of Directors on 10 December was clear: the EU needs to radically simplify the complex EU regulatory framework and align it more closely with the needs of businesses if we are to foster a competitive economy. The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss Eurochambres’ 60 specific simplification recommendations with the Swedishard Member of the European Parliament and President of SME Europe, Jörgen Warborn, who highlighted the need to tackle both reporting and compliance burdens.
