Economic Minister Petar Dilov and H.E Olesya Ilaschuk, Ambassador of Ukraine in Bulgaria discussed the possibilities for activating bilateral economic relations



Minister Dilov and Ambassador Ilaschchuk agreed that Bulgaria and Ukraine have great potential in the development of trade and investments and discussed the possibilities for improving economic cooperation in various sectors of mutual interest.
 
The two also discussed the possibilities for the participation of Bulgarian companies in the post-war recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine. "We are interested in specific Ukrainian projects in which Bulgarian companies can be involved as suppliers, contractors or subcontractors, for example in the field of infrastructure and construction, energy projects, as well as transport and logistics," the Minister of Economy emphasized.
 
Also were discussed the possibility of organizing a meeting of the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, which would give a new impetus to trade and economic relations. After checking, it was found that such a meeting has not been held for 15 years.
 
H.E. Olesya Ilashchuk highlighted the successful bilateral economic relations and thanked the Bulgarian side for the broad support provided to Ukraine - political, financial, military, humanitarian and diplomatic.

At the meeting, it became clear that for the first ten months of 2024, the trade between the two countries amounted to over 1.6 billion USD.
