e-MEDIATION platform was presented before experts from Bulgaria, Russia and Ukraine

At a meeting, organized by BCCI, the progress for the development of an electronic mediation platform was presented in execution of the е-MEDIATION project, which aims to promote ICT tools to cross-border disputes resolution. The participants in the meeting – mediators from Bulgaria, Russia and Ukraine, got acquainted with the goals of the project and the results achieved so far.

So far, the e-MEDIATION project has completed several project deliverables, including the development of e-MEDIATION Methodology, e-MEDIATION Code of Conduct, and the e-MEDIATION platform itself. The participants in the meeting found out that registration in the platform is very easy both for the companies willing to use the electronic mediation services and the mediators as well.

The advantages of online dispute resolution were discussed, among which: speed, convenience, cost efficiency, etc. Some disadvantages, such as the need of various mediation techniques, dependence on technologies, difficulties to establish and maintain the trust in an online environment, etc. were also discussed.

The e-MEDIATION platform is bilingual and is suitable for the resolution of cross-border disputes.
