Competition in the field of international commercial law and international commercial arbitration to be held at BCCI


For the 4th consecutive year at BCCI, Sofia VIS Pre-Moot – a competition in the field of international commercial law and international commercial arbitration - will take place in the period 16th – 18th  February 2018.

Sofia VIS Pre-Moot is a simulated arbitration process for students related to the application of the UN Convention on the International Sale of Goods. The moot court is conducted in English and aims to enhance the preparation of the teams of various universities for the international competition Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot - the world's largest moot court competition, which will be held for the 25th consecutive year in Vienna.

Last year's edition of Sofia VIS Pre-Moot held comprised 42 rounds involving more than 30 Bulgarian and foreign arbitrators. The event was proud with the participation of 11 teams, including universities from Switzerland, Italy, Japan, Macedonia, Serbia, Greece, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina and, of course, the 3 Bulgarian universities - Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski ", University of National and World Economy, and Veliko Tarnovo University St. Cyril and St. Methodius.

BCCI and the Association for International Moot Court Competitions this year will also co-operate in the promotion of arbitration as a dispute resolution mechanism and in preparation of the Bulgarian and foreign students for the competition which will take place at the end of March in Vienna, Austria.
