China give opportunity for Bulgarian companies to participate in the 2024 Shanghai International Import Fair

Dr. Vasil Todorov, Deputy President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, held a meeting with representatives of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Department of the Chinese Embassy in Sofia, Xin Linlin and Wang Shenxi.

Main topic of the conversation was the upcoming International Fair for Imported Goods, which will be held in the period November 5-10, 2024 in Shanghai, China. China International Import Expo 2024 /CIIE/ is under the title "New Era, Shared Future". It includes national presentation, business exhibition, international economic forum, cultural and other activities. The venue is the National Exhibition Center in Shanghai.

During the meeting, the representatives of the Chinese Embassy informed that Bulgaria has been invited to participate with a national stand at the event in order to present the country, competitive sectors, quality products and resources to support cooperation between Bulgaria, China and other countries participating in CIIE to promote trade and investment. During the past six years of the exhibition, a total of 142 countries and international organizations from 5 continents have participated in it.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and China, the government of the People's Republic of China provides free exhibition space for Bulgarian participants within the framework of a national stand /132 sq.m./ and a 50% reduction in the prices for construction, transportation of exhibits and logistical assistance. It was agreed that BCCI would explore the interest among its members to participate in the exhibition.

In 2023, CIIE will be attended by more than 3,400 companies from around the world. Exhibitors made contact with nearly 410,000 buyers, concluding deals worth $78.4 billion.
