In October 2024, the total business climate indicator decreased by 5.6% in comparison with September (from 22.5% to 16.9%), with decline recorded in all observed sectors - industry, construction, retail trade and services, the National Statistical Institute said on 30 October.
The most significant decrease was observed is in retail trade - 11.6%, as a result of the reserved assessments and expectations of retailers about the business situation of enterprises, followed by industry - down 5%. In October, the composite indicator "business climate in the services sector" fell by 3.8% and in construction by 2.2%.
In September 2024, the overall business climate indicator fell by 1% compared with the previous month due to a less favourable business climate in industry.
The uncertain economic environment, labour shortages, competition in the industry, insufficient demand and material prices continue to be the main factors limiting business development in the four sectors.
