The areas of study included in the agreement are economics, management, finance, accounting and auditing, as well as big data analysis and modelling in business by enhancing theoretical knowledge and developing practical skills in students, the Bulgarian Australian Business Council (BABC) said.

The agreement will lead to diversifying the curricula in the Bachelor and Master programs of the Faculty of Economics by including real case studies from practice in the field of foreign trade relations between Bulgaria and Australia or New Zealand. The partnership between the Faculty and the Council aims to provide student internships and lecturer visits to higher education institutions in both countries, as well as to support career guidance and motivation of the lecturers and students of the Faculty of Economics. In the framework of the learning process and educational exchange there will be joint lectures, specialized trainings, round tables, conferences and other events, including in the framework of the postgraduate programs at Sofia University.

BABC was established in 2018 to support trade and investment interest in Bulgaria from Australia and vice versa. Its members include the main Australian investors in Bulgaria, as well as many Bulgarian companies that have entered or are entering the Australian market. A great advantage of the Chamber is that it is an active member of the network of all bilateral European-Australian Chambers Australian Business in Europe. This allows its members to participate in events taking place outside the country, as well as keeping up to date with all the latest developments in trade negotiations between Brussels and Canberra.
