Bulgaria is among the countries where new batch of european Artificial Intelligence (AI) factories will be built
EuroHPC Joint Enterprise selected six new sites across Europe to host additional Artificial Intelligence (AI) factories to strengthen Europe's leadership in innovation and AI.
Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Poland and Slovenia will host the new AI Factories, supported by a combined national and European investment of €485 million. The Factories will offer privileged access to AI start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises, fostering their growth.
Supported by the EU's world-class network of supercomputers, these Factories will bring together the key ingredients of AI innovation: computing power, data and talent. This will allow AI companies, in particular SMEs and start-ups, as well as researchers, to improve the training and development of large-scale, reliable and ethical AI models.
The Bulgarian AI Factory “BRAIN++” will be located in Sofia Tech Park in capital Sofia and will consist of two components: “Discoverer++” – a next-generation supercomputer tailored for cutting-edge AI workloads, and the Bulgarian AI Factory – a comprehensive AI hub offering a one-stop shop to government, education and private companies.
“BRAIN++” aims to position Bulgaria as a regional leader in innovation. “BRAIN++” will integrate with other AI factories across Europe and contribute to a unified European ecosystem by promoting ethical and responsible practices in the field.
