The new ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bulgaria - H.E. Jongin Bae, visited the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and had talks with the President of the Chamber about the possibilities for development of bilateral trade and economic relations. The meeting took place only a day after H.E. Jongin Bae presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria - Rumen Radev.
Tsvetan Simeonov made an overall presentation of the economic situation in the country, emphasizing the tax system and the incentives for investors and highlighting the place of Bulgaria in international rankings as reflected in the latest brochure of the BCCI - "Bulgaria in numbers" 2023 .
The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry introduced his guest to the activities of the Chamber, its regional structure and principal database, including the Unified trade register, as well as BCCI’s membership in international organizations.
Simeonov communicated that for Bulgaria, Korea is an important economic partner in Asia. Our country views as a priority and attaches great importance to the development of the bilateral commercial, economic and scientific-technical cooperation with the Republic of Korea. Further, he also drew attention to the opportunities offered by the European Union–South Korea Free Trade Agreement.
Ambassador Jongin Bae introduced his view on the development of bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Korea, accentuating the sectors: energy and green transition, and digitalization. He presented Korea's experience in the field of solar energy and nuclear power plants. Further, the diplomat pointed out to the opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the field of information technology, technology parks, and automotive industry.
Additionally, the participants discussed the possibilities for joint events and initiatives, as well as more activities, organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Korea.
