The Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Libya in Sofia visited BCCI

Sofian Eltrike, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Libya in Sofia, visited BCCI and met with the Chamber’s President Tsvetan Simeonov. The Second Secretary of the Embassy Khaled Zitoun, ​​the President and Vice-President of the Bulgarian - Libyan Association Sahara – Atanaska Petkova and Yavor Tomchev, as well as Stanimir Tsotsov, Member of the Board of Directors of BCCI, also took part in the meeting.

The topic of discussion was intensification of the Bulgarian - Libyan trade and economic relations. In this regard, BCCI signed a cooperation agreement with the Union of Libyan Chambers of Commerce and Industry in 2017. It contains agreements related to economic cooperation between Bulgarian and Libyan entrepreneurs.

Sofian Eltrike emphasized some goods and industries of mutual interest:

Imports from Libya - ceramics, marble, silicone, iron, livestock and wool, oil and petroleum products, paints and putty, dates, etc.

Exports from Bulgaria - medicines and medical materials and equipment, sanitary materials, electric tools and consumables, shoes, clothes, processed iron, food production and raw materials, agricultural machinery, furniture, decorative materials, construction, etc.

The two parties agreed to jointly organize next month an online information event on business opportunities between the two countries, with the participation of experts from Libya and Bulgaria. The event will precede the expected visit of a Libyan business delegation to Bulgaria by the end of the year.
