Preparations for a visit of Bulgarian business delegation to Iran are underway


The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov met with Mr. Hassan Doutaghi, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sofia. The occasion for the meeting was to discuss the possibility to organize a Bulgarian business delegation to visit Iran and conduct B2B meetings in the autumn on 2017.

Mr. Doutaghi informed that he had already met with the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy, with representatives of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, and with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Iran given the considerable interest in organizing such a delegation.

In support of the growing interest between businesses of the two countries, Mr. Doutaghi said that the economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Iran has been making significant progress lately, and trade in some sectors has multiplied several times.

During the meeting the results of previous visits of Bulgarian business delegations to the Islamic Republic of Iran were also discussed, as well as the upcoming bilateral cooperation commissions, and some sectors of interest such as pharmaceutics, agriculture, machine building for the food industry, and clean energy technologies.
