The Ambassador of the State of Israel visited BCCI

H.E. Shaul Kamisa Raz, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Bulgaria visited BCCI and met with the President of the Chamber Tsvetan Simeonov. The Chairman and the Secretary General of the newly-established Binational Chamber of Commerce Bulgaria – Israel Messrs. Avinoam Katriel and Emil Magrisso also took part in the meeting.

Ambassador Raz informed of the upcoming end of his term of office in late July. He said that he sees improvement of Bulgaria’s investment image in the period he has spent in our country. The country is becoming an attractive place for business and investment with its strategic geographic location, low taxes and qualified labour force.

The Ambassador said that the lack of economic counselor at the Embassy required him to meet more companies. In this process he came to realize that there is unutilized potential in the bilateral trade and economic relations. This motivated him to encourage the initiative of Israeli entrepreneurs in Bulgaria to set up a Binational Chamber of Commerce Bulgaria – Israel.

Tsvetan Simeonov backed the guidelines for the role and tasks of the newly-established chamber laid down in its draft-papers and extended an invitation for it to join the Club of Joint and Foreign Chambers at BCCI. On behalf of the Chamber he expressed readiness to provide assistance in order to intensify the business cooperation between entrepreneurs from the two countries.
