The Ambassador of Benin visited BCCI


The Ambassador of Benin, accredited for Bulgaria, H.E. Eloi Laourou, visited BCCI. He talked to the President of BCCI - Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov. Fifame Goussoueme De-Dovonou also attended the meeting, attaché at the Embassy of Benin in Switzerland. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the economic development of Bulgaria and the African country.

Ambassador Laourou briefly outlined the reforms that the Benin government implements for the promotion of the economic development and the manufacturing sector. The country has a preferential regime without duties and quotas to the EU, which is a prerequisite for expanding the trade cooperation.

Mr. Simeonov presented the strengths of the Bulgarian economy and outlined the possible areas of bilateral cooperation, among them hydro energetics, renewable energy sources, including solar energy, agricultural production processing, construction and infrastructure.

The transport links between the two countries were also discussed. The Benin’s economy was agreed to be presented to the members of BCCI’s during the autumn of 2019.
