Planned initiatives to promote the economic ties Bulgaria – Vietnam



The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov held a working meeting with Pham Tuan Huy, Second Secretary for Commercial Affairs at the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Bulgaria.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the forthcoming joint initiatives aimed at promoting bilateral economic relations. Pham Tuan Huy informed that an exhibition of Vietnamese goods in Sofia as well as a visit by a business delegation from the Asian country are to be held.

Simeonov shared the interest of Bulgarian companies in expanding their business contacts abroad and especially with the Far East countries. According to a recent BCCI survey, Bulgarian entrepreneurs are strongly interested in cooperation in the field of: machinery and equipment (according to 37% of respondents), food and beverages (27%), textiles and clothing (25%), electronics (23%), and energy and chemical industry products (21%). Bulgarian business is also interested in partnerships with companies in the field of construction, services, transport and logistics, retail trade and metallurgy.
