At BCCI, a meeting was held between representatives of the Macedonian – Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and of Kisela Voda Municipality, Skopje and representatives of the Bulgarian energy and construction sectors.
The meeting was officially opened by the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov who said that the interest of Bulgarian companies towards Macedonia has increased twice in comparison to last year, according to a survey of BCCI. He also highlighted the cooperation between the EU and the Western Balkans, which is one of the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of EU, also supported by BCCI.
Zore Temelkovski, President of the Macedonian – Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce said that the signed Friendship, Neighbourhood and Cooperation Treaty between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia will bring more security to business and will help develop the untapped potential in the relations between the countries. Temelkovski pointed out that Bulgaria is a preferred partner in the region due to the lack of a language barrier.
H.E. Marjan Gjorchev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Macedonia in Bulgaria said that all the prerequisites for intensifying cooperation between the two countries are present – good political relations at the highest level, good economic relations, and excellent cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry.
Filip Temelkovski, Mayor of Kisela Voda Municipality, Skopje, presented the Municipality – the industrial zones, the economic situation and its vision for development. Gasification and construction were singled out as important sectors of mutual interest.
Plamen Pavlov, President of the Bulgarian Gas Association, presented the experience and opportunities for cooperation in the sector, and Dominic Hamers, Executive Director of “Geotechmin” Ltd. shared the company’s experience in the construction sector.
The meeting continued with a discussion and outlining of specific measures to boost the bilateral relations.
