More than 300 Chinese companies visited Bulgaria in 2018


H.E. Dong Xiaojun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China in Sofia visited BCCI and met with the Chamber’s President Tsvetan Simeonov. The Commercial Counsellor Wang Xuekun, as well as representatives of the Chinese Embassy’s team also took part in the discussion.

During the meeting, the economic situation in Bulgaria and China was discussed and increased business interest of both countries was noted in the opportunities for greater cooperation and interaction. Ambassador Xiaojun said that in 2018 more than 300 Chinese companies had visited Bulgaria.

Tsvetan Simeonov pointed out BCCI’s activities in the framework of the cooperation between CEE and China, as well as the Chamber’s participation in the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce. Real projects of Bulgarian companies looking for a partnership on the Silk Road are being explored. The Ambassador added that this format allowed for sharing common principles, conducting joint consultations and drawing conclusions that benefit all 17+1 participants, along with the application of WТO and EU principles in international trade.
