BCCI participated in the presentation of the “Juncker Plan” by EC Vice-President Jyrki Katainen

At a conference entitled 'An Investment Boost to Europe' the European Commission Vice-President Jyrki Katainen presented the Investment Plan for Europe known as the “Juncker Plan”.
The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov and Vice-President George Stoev were special guests at the event alongside representatives of the employers’ organizations, the trade unions, investors, MPs and diplomats.
The event was part of Jyrki Katainen’s work programme in Sofia. Deputy Prime Minister for European Policies Coordination and Institutional Affairs Meglena Kuneva, Deputy Prime Minister for EU Funds and Economic Policies Tomislav Donchev and the Minister of Economy of Bulgaria Bojidar Loukarski took part in the conference.
EC Vice-President Jyrki Katainen, responsible for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness analyzed the three parts of the “Juncker Plan”. The first part deals with the European Fund for Strategic Investments, the second one concerns project transparency, and the third one – expanding and strengthening the Single Market as a main priority.
“The main goal of the “Juncker Plan” is to boost private investments in the real economy, public-private partnerships”, the Commissioner said. “It is difficult to find well-structured, reliable projects. Therefore, a series of transparent projects is required to enable investors to make their optimal choice of projects to invest in”, Katainen explained.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Meglena Kuneva “We need to wake up the private sector in Europe so that it feels welcome in the big plans of society”.
Bulgaria's Economy Minister Bojidar Loukarski further explained that financing through the programme in Bulgaria will be conducted mostly in three main directions: energy efficiency, improvement of production capacities and innovations. Furthermore, all applications could now be submitted electronically.
