A multimodal transportation center has been established with BCCI as part of the ADB Multiplatform Project, financed by the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme. Veselin Stoyanov, Manager of Transpress LTD. and board member of the GS1 Bulgaria Council has been elected the Chairman of the Center.
The main goals of the Center include:
• preparation and submission of opinions on legislation and relevant documents related to the development of multimodal transport in Bulgaria;
• elaboration of measures related to optimization of the transportation and reduction of transport costs by introducing environmentally friendly multimodal transport solutions;
• increasing the awareness of shippers, forwarders and carriers on the opportunities of the multimodal transport;
• development of an effective multimodal transport network in Adriatic Sea - Danube - Black Sea area through the establishment of stable partnerships and cooperation with different transport hubs and logistic centers at national and international level;
• dissemination of information on innovative solutions in the field of multimodal transport;
• promotion of the new trends in the developments of the multimodal transport and logistics, innovations and best practices in the EU countries;
• participation in transport oriented projects and programmes;
• organization of meetings, discussions and round tables dedicated to current issues in transport area;
• organization of trainings and seminars.

Establishing the multimodal transportation center with BCCI is one of the main achievements of the ADB Multiplatform Project, developed in the period 2011-2014.
