The shortage of funds, the instability of the economic environment and the burden of the administrative procedures to the Operational programme “Development of the Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy” are the main obstacles to implementing innovations. This resulted from the BCCI’s research, conducted between its members in June 2013, on the role of innovations for the businesses and their collaboration with universities. Compared to last year, there is no improvement of the situation at present. Companies have pointed out the same problems that were indicated by the BCCI’s research of 2012.
Only 23% of the entrepreneurs affirm that are able to independently implement activities in the sphere of innovations. 37% of them indicate their partnerships to other companies and universities as most preferred forms of innovative activity, 26% - the ones to foreign companies.
The insufficient information awareness of the businesses regarding the scientific development, on one hand, and the low activity of the universities, on the other are the two main barriers for the collaboration between businesses and science, reveals also the research.
