2021 marks the 30th anniversary of Bulgaria's accession to the GS1 Community, which currently has representatives in 115 countries around the world, but in practice its activities cover the entire globe.
With reference to the 30th anniversary, GS1 Bulgaria undertook a series of activities, including online training on various topics of application of standards, publication of a jubilee brochure and information materials, and last but not least a conference with international speakers and guests, held on September 30th. The main topics discussed at the conference were:
- The importance and quality of the data. Standards, services and solutions.
- European data policies in the context of digitalization
- Electronic data exchange
- Food traceability
- Verification of medicines
- Intelligent logistics solutions
- Standards in e-commerce platforms
These topics were presented by speakers from the country and abroad - representatives of leading companies in Bulgaria using GS1 standards in their daily activities, representatives of the Global Office of the international organization GS1 AISBL, the regional organization GS1 in Europe and GS1 Austria.
The conference was opened by Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, President of GS1 Bulgaria and President of the Board of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Congratulatory addresses were received from GS1 National Organizations around the world, from the Bulgarian Organization for Verification of Medicines and the Department of Transport and Energy Economics at UNWE.
