On 6 July, the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov took part in the 4th meeting of the Business Council “China and the Central and Eastern European countries” under the 16+1 initiative, organized by the Bulgarian SME Promotion Agency, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. Tsvetan Simeonov welcomed the participants and said that the huge interest in the meeting is a clear sign of the interest of the business for cooperation between China and the CEE countries. The President of BCCI said that the Chamber follows the events under the “16+1” and “One belt, one road” initiatives and actively participates in the meetings of the National Association “One belt, one road”. Since the beginning of the year, BCCI is a member of the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce and during the first half of 2018 welcomed 6 business missions from China.
The President of BCCI also took part in the business forum accompanying the 7th meeting of State and Government leaders of China and the Central and Eastern European countries which was held on 7 July. During the official opening ceremony, welcoming speeches were delivered by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria - Boyko Borisov and the Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China - Li Keqiang.
The forum was attended by representatives of more than 1500 companies from China and the CEE countries, diplomats, representatives of the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, etc.
