BCCI and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will undertake joint initiatives to develop bilateral relations

H.E. Abdulrahman Ahmed Aljaber, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, visited BCCI and talked with its President Tsvetan Simeonov. The meeting was also attended by Dr Mohamed Elbakari, political analyst at the Embassy.

The development of the trade and economic relations between the two countries was discussed. Ambassador Aljaber shared that a separate Chamber of commerce is functioning in each of the seven Emirates and it can assist BCCI in any future visits or inquiries about finding partners. The participants in the discussion declared a willingness to develop commercial and economic ties even more actively. Actions will be taken to find the most forward-looking way to expand the scope of bilateral relations, the Ambassador stated further.

On his part, Mr Simeonov presented the activity of BCCI and expressed a readiness for assistance in any future joint initiatives. It was agreed to hold, in the near future, an online informational forum on the opportunities to do business with the UAE and to present traditional local products. BCCI and the Embassy will work together on the exchange of business delegations.

As you can remember, during a visit of an official Bulgarian delegation to Abu Dhabi in 2022, a Memorandum on Strategic Partnership was signed between Bulgaria and the United Arab Emirates, as well as bilateral Documents of Understanding in the fields of tourism, agriculture, education and culture.

Data of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) show that, in 2023, the net foreign investments from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Bulgaria amounted to EURO 170.7 million.
