Ernesto Perez, Secretary of Agriculture of the Province of La Rioja, Argentina, H.E. Alfredo Atanasóf, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Argentina in Sofia, and representatives of the Argentinian business visited BCCI and talked with the President, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov.
Ernesto Perez informed that Argentina is a world power in agriculture. 80% of the fruit consumed in the Northern Hemisphere, out of season, are from Argentina, and the La Rioja province, represented by him, is located in northwestern Argentina and has close access to ports both in the country and in neighboring Chile. The province has a high export potential by offering fresh fruit and vegetables in a season in which they are not produced here in Europe. Given the good climatic conditions, the production of a wide range of products is present - grain, olive oil, oil, vegetables, fruit, nuts, meat.
Ambassador Alfredo Atanasóf, for his part, said that Bulgaria has a strategic geographical position and direct access to ports and infrastructure by sea and by the Danube River, through which it is connected both with the countries of Eastern Europe and through Romania to the north. This is the reason why the Argentinian delegation has taken steps to build a hub for Argentinian products in Bulgaria.
Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov fully supported the ideas and proposals of the Argentinian group, and BCCI will provide full assistance in organizing an exhibition for Argentinian products in Sofia, the next year. The goal is that the Bulgarian entrepreneurs become familiar with the possibilities for cooperation, exchange of goods and experience with Argentinian partners.
