The Union of Arab Chambers is exploring the possibilities of making Bulgaria a logistics hub for the countries of the Arab League

The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov had a meeting with Khaled Hanafi, Secretary General of the Union of Arab Chambers. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Egypt in Sofia and a company from Egypt with business in Bulgaria.

The meeting is a follow up of a virtual business forum  (end of 2022), organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Embassy of Egypt in Sofia and participants from partner companies from Egypt.

President Simeonov said that the Bulgarian businesses have intensive business relations with companies and business organizations from the countries of the Arab world. He pointed out there’s a Bulgarian-Arab Chambers Association, existing since the end of 2020, which has already contributed to the management of several business visits and forums with partners from Lebanon, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Mr Hanafi said that the Union of Arab Chambers, being the largest business organization of the Arab League, is exploring the possibilities for Bulgaria to become the logistics hub for imports and exports to the European Union. He has already visited the Port of Burgas and held a number of meetings with business organizations and institutions.

The Union of Arab Chambers is organising a number of events to promote investment opportunities and joint projects. The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as the regional Chambers of Commerce in Burgas and Varna, have demonstrated their support and readiness to assist the realization of these projects.
