11 industrial parks in the country will receive free financing in the amount of BGN 207 million
The Ministry of Innovation and Growth will support the development and construction of a total of 11 industrial zones and parks in the country, mainly in Northern Bulgaria. They receive free financing in the amount of nearly BGN 207 million. The funds are from the Recovery and Sustainability Plan under the "Program for Public Support for the Development of Industrial Areas, Parks and Similar Territories and for Attracting Investments ("AttractInvestBG")".
According to the procedure announced by the General Directorate "European Funds for Competitiveness" at the Ministry of Innovation and Growth, 20 projects with declared funding in the amount of nearly BGN 384 million applied.
A total of 11 industrial parks and zones in ten cities will receive funding: Ruse, Shumen (two industrial parks), Svishtov, Lovech, Sofia, Burgas, Stara Zagora, Vidin, Targovishte, Sliven. Candidates in Northern Bulgaria had priority under the program, with the aim of reducing regional imbalances in the country.
Among the projects classified for financing, 7 are for existing industrial parks/zones created before 28/04/2022. 4 projects are for new and under construction industrial parks/zones created after 04/28/2022.
According to the procedure of the MIR under PVU, operators of all industrial zones and parks in the country - state, municipal, joint and private, newly created or in an advanced stage of development - were eligible for application. Eligible activities for the grant are: construction and reconstruction and rehabilitation of leading technical infrastructure; internal technical infrastructure within the boundaries of the industrial park/zone; scientific research (innovative) infrastructure; ecological domestic infrastructure (solar battery charging stations for electric cars).
