Ambassador Franges received the traditional symbol of the Presidency of the Council of the EU from the EU Club – the Baton
In continuation of the recent EU Club meeting organized by Enterprise Europe Network at the BCCI on the occasion of the beginning of the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov met with the Ambassador of Slovenia in Sofia H.E. Anzej Franges and Zornitsa Zdravkova, Economic Assistant at the Embassy in Sofia.
Ambassador Franges received the traditional symbol of the Presidency of the Council of the EU from the EU Club – the Baton, and said that he would be honoured to help achieve the main priorities and guidelines of the Slovenian Presidency by the end of this year. Tsvetan Simeonov wished Slovenia a successful presidency.
During the meeting, the state of the economies of Bulgaria and Slovenia was discussed as well as the factors that affect them, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tsvetan Simeonov pointed out that BCCI insists restrictive measures to be imposed very carefully so as not to hurt industries that have not been largely affected by the pandemic so far. He shared some of the proposals made by the Chamber to the Bulgarian ministries - economic sectors with similar status to be treated equally and epidemic measures to be selected and implemented not nationally by at a lower level, e.g. for specific municipalities.
